SPEARITWURX  provides powerful culturally- based youth programming for students in kindergarten through twelfth grades. Our programs offer creative, holistic and innovative approaches to instilling a powerful sense of self–knowledge, respect, and esteem in our youth . Our mission is to enhance our youths ability to actively contribute to the development of healthy and sustainable families, and to the communities in which they live.

Through our intuitively-designed interactive workshops, challenging outings and comprehensive case-management/ mentoring, youth begin to see themselves as capable and intelligent young women and young men, and accept responsibility for their inter-personal relationships, families, education and careers.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS: 

SPEARITWURX  has provided comprehensive youth programming to 1000's of  youth throughout California.

These programs have included:

Sankofa Sistahs: support group, mentoring and case-management for young women and girls.

Brothas Keeper: support group, mentoring and case-management for young men and boys.

Bush Camp: camping trips, hikes and empowering outdoor experiences.

Anger Management: interactive sessions that explore emotions as they build self awareness, accountability and responsibility.

Ujima Life Skills:  culturally-relevant life-skills training that instills healthy living skills of nutrition, relationships, sexuality, goal setting and achieving, media awareness, self-esteem and leadership.

Conflict Resolution: peer-2-peer conflict mediation/activism training for traditional and non-traditional youth leaders.

Rise Up: peer-2-peer health education/activism training for traditional and non-traditional youth leaders.

Spearitwurx Academy: Kindergarten through 12th grade tutoring, study skills, academic enrichment and college readiness.

Literacy through Hip Hop: creative writing, media literacy, music production and recording arts workshops and entrepreneurialism.

The Line: experiential workshops that challenge historical and contemporary institutional, interpersonal and internalized oppression in order to engage in Radical Healing.
