POWERFUL PARENT CONFERENCE "Activating Radical Healing - Strategies and Resources to Liberate Families of Color" Saturday March 9, 2019 9:30am-4pm @ Merritt College Student Center The Powerful Parent Conference is a cultural container for Parents of Color to build community, share authentic experiences in our journey of parenting. We will have interactive workshops on topics such as agency and activism; cultural tools for resilience; strategies for community and emotional safety; and healing from inter-generational trauma. Please register by 3/1/2019 Check out last years Magic: 2018 Powerful Parent Conference "Building Safety, Sustainability & Solidarity in Black & Brown Families!" was held on SAT, MARCH 3, 2018 9am-4pm at Met West High School 314 East 10th Street in Oakland, CA In the age of “Black Lives Matter” and the openly racist anti-immigrant U.S. presidential administration, we must intentionally build healthy, resilient, and capable family units that can protect our youth from the impacts of institutional, interpersonal, and internalized racism. The time is now for asserting Black & Brown families into the forefront of this movement for social justice, safety, and sustainability. Therefore, Spearitwurx offered the Powerful Parent Conference that engaged parents and youth of color in developing tools, sharing resources, and building authentic connections that build resiliency, conjure safety, and demand self-sustainability and self-determination.
